Baby gear has been the focus of my crafting. AND I have been putting it all on Facebook! Yeah, I know, I suck again! But, it seems easier to advertise there. I am going to try to keep this thing updated as much as possible. Don't count on it, but I am going to T-R-Y!

First up we have some embroidered baby burp cloths I made for a friend who needed some closure on her baby name. She didn't know FOR SURE what they were going to name her baby girl but had Olivia in mind. So she emails me and says "I want 2 burp cloths embroidered for Olivia. Now do it quick so we can't change our minds!" And here they are!

Next up is my reversible nursing cover. I made this for one of my best friends who was having her second girl. I gave it to her as a gift in the hospital along with a painted frame.

Both of these can be ordered via facebook or email and can be customized just for YOU!

TTFN,

Rachelle

Crayon Roll

Yes. It has been a LONG while since I last posted but HEY! We were all sick at least once, school started, tax training started and the husband has been prepping for transition to shore duty!! WOOHOO! His last day on the ship is 2 days before my birthday! Imagine that! Then he has 30 days off, we are taking a trip to a "secret" location for 2 weeks during Christmas, then he starts his schooling for teaching at his new command. We aren't moving. :( Oh well. So my new craft is my crayon roll which, I must say, has been a real hit! I have 5 orders right now that are due out before we leave on our trip December 12th! I am super excited!! I have also received a big bug order...12 bugs!!...that needs to be done by then as well. Lots to do now that Christmas is quickly approaching. So, I am going to share with you my crayon roll!! I am selling these for $8 and that includes 16 crayons and your choice of fabric! I can find just about anything. This is the pattern/colors for my BFF's almost 2yr old daughter. :) It is totally washable, holds up to 20 crayons, is quilted and is perfect for restaurants or travel. I hope you enjoy it! If you would like to order one, shoot me an email goudegirl03@aim.com with your fabric colors/patterns choice. Did I mention I will be including FREE SHIPPING!?!?

Until next time,

Baby Blanket and Nursing Cover...FINALLY!

Yep, it's been a while since my last post, but that is only because I had to wait until Sheri, my sister, had her shower "just in case" she happened to get on blogger and saw her gifts! I must say, for my first try, they turned out PERFECT!! The only problem I had was sewing in the boning on the nursing cover but now that I know what to do, I will be a pro when I make one for my BFF!!

I had a hard time picking out the fabric for the cover because I wanted it to be traditional. But soon I found this RADICAL print by Michael Miller and just HAD to have it for Sheri! She is a school teacher so it fit her personality to a tee! Unfortunately, when she opened it, my other sister just HAD to poke fun and they all got a laugh out of my "teat" cover by thinking it was an apron. Just wait! She will see just how easy it will be to breast feed in public without showing it all! I am proud of my creation and can't wait to make another!

As for the blanket, I had NO problem with the colors, just the material. I wanted to use minky but wasn't sure what else. I ended up choosing a soft silk. The minky came to me super soft with chocolate, mocha, mint and lime dots on a white background. The silk is a chocolate color. The blanket "pattern" came to me courteous of Tuesdays with Molly. Her blog features some great projects like this one with step-by-step instructions. The only other problem I had was mitring the corners, but I quickly figured it out after the first one! Thanks MOLLY!!!

Well, that is it for now. I DID make the Yoda Robe as well. That will be posted in another post another day. It came out GREAT even though I forgot the tie! Can't wait for you all to see it soon!! Next up, either a camera strap cover or more baby stuff! Oh and I need a new name for my store and blog!!!

Until Later!

Newness Coming Soon!

So my sista from another mother is going to be having a little boy soon and since she lives in Ohio, I will not be attending her shower. HOWEVER, I WILL be making her shower gifts for her! I have a few ideas rolling around in my head and cannot WAIT to get the fabric and supplies and start working on them!! I am also going to be making my husband's Jedi robe for our up and coming end of summer party to go with the mask portion of his costume! I am so excited! If the baby items go well, I will be adding them to my inventory. The robe, well, let's just say it is going to take a lot of patience to make that I hope to have! Besides that, I am waiting on a friend to pick out colors for another project that I will also be busy working on. I am super excited for the up and coming newness!! Which brings me to my dilemma. My name. Should I change it? Since I am diverting to things other than hair bows and bugs, I am thinking I should. If I do, I am thinking I should have a contest here on my blog. What do you all think? I could probably get some good promotions if I DO. Until I figure it out, all ideas are welcome!

Nothing new to show but keep on watching for the new projects!!!

Pot Holder and Toddler Hat

Ahhh, another relaxing Sunday and I am FINALLY getting to post my 2 new creations! I know they aren't hair accessories, but those will come some other day this week...I made more! Anyway, we have a pretty simple "pot holder" in a light bluish color. It is plain, yes, but I didn't want to ruin any of my other fabric just in case I screwed it up missed a stitch or two! It is made with a fat quarter and a wash cloth. Pretty simple, washable and definately usable!! It was so easy to make I cannot wait to make more! I was so excited that THAT project turned out I went ahead and started another, a fluted toddler hat. Now this one had me on my machine cursing for over an hour! After I finally got it, I went back and REREAD the directions just to realize I should have taken a nap before continuing on! Yes, I misread the directions and did the project wrong, but it came out soooo cute!! I have batman fabric to make another for my son but need to enlarge the pattern just a little so it will fit on his 5 1/2yr old head! Next project...it's a surprise! Who knows, it could be a blanket, pillow, hair bows or something else! Stay tuned!

Bible Cover and Crayon Caddy

So I dove in and made my daughter a cover for her dilapidated bible the dog got a hold of so she could take it to camp. It turned out pretty good. A little on the big side, but that is because I measured big instead of just right like the directions said! I did the same thing for a crayon caddy I made to take along crayons the kids are always using at restaurants. That's OK, I will get these two projects perfect and add them to my inventory. Both projects are made from cotton fabric fat quarters in fun fabric. Any beginner...well obviously not ANY...can do this! I am loving my fat quarters and cannot wait for my next project! If you would like to purchase either a bible/book cover or crayon caddy, please message me and I will give you details on how to measure your book and what colors I have available for YOU!

Next up, washable pot holders!
